Self expression. Art is evidence of the human consciousness, giving form to subjective interpretations of our world. Art is not confined to aesthetically-pleasing creations. It can be anything that the creator intends to represent a certain thought or notion. For example, if I said that the action of twirling my hair is a metaphor of the brainstorming going through my mind in that moment, then I could consider that action to be a piece of art. On the other hand, Art can be created to provide personal value for the artist. So if I wanted to draw something for the hell of it, not for any underlining meaning other than that I just want to draw a face, then that could be considered art under the terms that I want to create an image for my personal enjoyment. In my opinion, Art exists once it is given any type of tangible form and a personal touch of consciousness. It can be shared with the masses or kept private for the artist's entertainment. It can be created by anyone who wants to create. Viewers' interpretations of work can even be considered creating art in itself, for the action of reinventing an object through personal perception is a form of communicating individual awareness. It all depends on if that spark is given tangible life outside of the artist's mind.

A small update on why I've been so chronically dead here:
- I have been accepted to Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, Columbus College of Art and Design, Savannah College of Art and Design, and Maryland Institute School of Art.

- So far, I have received two scholarships: 36k to MIAD for overall academic and artistic achievements, allocated over 4 years; and 32k to SCAD for academic achievement (they have yet to evaluate my portfolio), 8k for each year. I'm waiting to hear from CCAD and MICA.

- I'm currently working on my AP portfolio... though I feel it necessary to take foundation college courses, financial situation granted.

- Since I've been so pressured to finish quality work for admission portfolios, I've kind of stopped doodling and all that jazz... until now. My happiness levels are climbing slowly.

- And seeing that I'll most likely be leaving the state for school, leaving Nic behind, I have been spending time with him just about every day doing what we love best. Playing Little Big Planet. Bahaha. (Other things too of course...)

- Oh yes... and most of my new stuff has been larger than my scanner size. I'm lazy.



I'm looking forward to being a bit more active on here, even though this account goes way back to 8th grade year, and I'm still getting comments relating to the present tense for sketches from three or so years ago.


You guys are awesome.


-update- I received a scholarship from CCAD for 42k. Oh my.

And yet I continue to use it haha.


Man, I haven't updated this journal for almost a year, what d'ya know.


Well, I'm seventeen now. A great difference to when I began this account at age....what, 14? Wow. Freshman year. o.o I'm now a senior. Crazy.


I look forward to updating this gallery with new powerful works, as well as my customary doodles and sketches. There's so much to show you guys, I'm just a lazybutt and scared to touch the scanner every now and then. That and some new works are just too big to scan, and I dun like photos of work. Ah, I guess I'll have to do it sooner or later.



I want to say, I greatly greatly greatly appreciate all the watchers who take their time to view my work. Though it's not all worth your time (in my eyes - I'm a critical artist ^//^), you guys motivate me to continue posting here and share my small stories with the world. Thank you for viewing my artwork. I can never say it enough.

I haven't posted a journal here for quite awhile. The whole summer it seems.

I'm sorry for those who kept up with my work. I appreciate you watchers out there, and anyone who is still willing to read what I have to say. No...this isn't a goodbye entry.

So many things have happened this summer. It has been so dramatic, it would make a young preteen girl's head explode. Haha...man. Where to begin.

Overall, after I had posted (or even before, I don't remember) the South Padre drawing of Justin and me, Justin and I broke it off officially, I have been working on summer assignments for my new major at NESA, and Nic (my previous crush) asked me out early August. Crazy.

It wasn't a very clean break off with Justin either, but finally it's been done with. And then my dear crush came into the picture...Ramon Nic Leal (Whom I drew a small cameo here: jackie-blaire.deviantart.com/a…) On July 8th, I had found him on myspace and sent him a message confessing my fondness for him, and he replied back and soon started conversation. We took it over to AIM in the middle of night and continued until daybreak. The longest conversation I have ever held with someone online for six hours straight. Hahaha.

Eventually Nic and I went out to Chinese, ice skating, bowling, kayaking, swimming, Enchanted Rock (bigass rock like a mountain that we hiked), Schlitterbahn (the greatest waterpark in the country), and several visits at both of our homes which involved Super Smash Bros. Melee, all under a bit over a month. Exactly a month later after that message over AIM, Nic asked me out during our visit at Schlitterbahn....right after I knocked out half of my front tooth and busted my lip. Hahaha, what a scene. A memorable one at that. I will never forget crouching there on the ground holding those paper towels to my bleeding face while listening to Nic's soft voice lead to that one question. >>; Ah, if only we could have ended it with a kiss.

It's been almost three weeks since then. I fixed my tooth and have been working on summer assignements for Visual Arts, hopefully I will be able to take a decent picture of my painting and other large drawing to show here. It's my very first painting in acrylic. >>; I'm somewhat proud of it...

So yes. Lots of personal mushy relationship things happened over the summer. Other than that, I've just been drawing, reading, catching up on Harry Potter, playin' the piano...and tha'ts pretty much it. >>; Oh yes, and the Wii. Such fun. :]

Oh, and now I also have my permit. Can't forget learning how to drive, heheh.

Hahaha...augh. For someone who isn't very fond of drama, I sure make a mess of it. x_x;
